Here are some ideas for day two: tour the pleasant surroundings at Brewster Peninsula Nature Trails, then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, then stop by Saratoga Olive Oil Company, and finally learn about winemaking at Goose Watch Winery Lake Placid.

Lake George

— 2 nights

Queen of the American Lakes

A playground for America’s wealthy families, Lake George was nicknamed "Queen of the American Lakes." While these families often stayed in private country houses, a tourism industry built up around them in the early 20th century facilitated by two YMCAs.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Warren County Bikeway and Lumberjack Pass Miniature Golf. There's lots more to do: take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Lake George Distilling Company, catch the contagious excitement of Saratoga Race Course, and explore the activities along Lake George.

To see other places to visit, where to stay, reviews, and other tourist information, refer to the Lake George trip planning tool.

You can drive from Lake Placid to Lake George in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Lake Placid in July, with highs in Lake George at 82°F and lows at 60°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Wed) early enough to go by car back home.
