Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Alexandria: National Museum of the Marine Corps (in Triangle) and Chantilly (Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center & Ono Brewing Company). There's much more to do: explore the different monuments and memorials at Arlington National Cemetery, wander the streets of Old Town, don't miss a visit to John F. Fly from Alexandria to Myrtle Beach in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and car. Traveling from Alexandria in March, expect Myrtle Beach to be a bit warmer, temps between 63°F and 45°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sat) to allow enough time to drive back home.
