The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
Visiting Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park and Vogel State Park will get you outdoors. Museum-lovers will get to explore Hay House and Skylake Galleries. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Atlanta: St. Joseph's Catholic Church (in Macon), Helen (Hansel and Gretel Candy Kitchen & Raven Cliff Falls) and Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery (in Dahlonega). There's still lots to do: get to know the fascinating history of Silver Comet Trail, admire the majestic nature at Stone Mountain Park, enjoy some music at Fox Theatre, and browse the eclectic array of goods at Your Dekalb Farmers Market.

For where to stay, other places to visit, traveler tips, and more tourist information, refer to the Atlanta itinerary maker site.

The Route module shows you travel options from your home to Atlanta. April in Atlanta sees daily highs of 74°F and lows of 54°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
