The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
Visit Centennial Olympic Park and Heritage Hall for their historical value. Get some cultural insight at World of Coca-Cola and Habersham Vineyards & Winery. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Atlanta: Stone Mountain Park (in Stone Mountain), North Georgia Premium Outlets (in Dawsonville) and Mall of Georgia (in Buford). There's lots more to do: see a show at Fox Theatre, do a tasting at Chateau Elan Winery, buy something for everyone on your list at Lenox Square, and steep yourself in history at Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site.

To find more things to do, ratings, photos, and more tourist information, use the Atlanta trip planning app.

If you are flying in from Puerto Rico, the closest major aiports are Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Dobbins Air Reserve Base and Robins Air Force Base. In July, daily temperatures in Atlanta can reach 37°C, while at night they dip to 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
