Augusta

— 5 nights
Augusta–Richmond County is a consolidated city-county on the central eastern border of the U.S. state of Georgia, and located on the Savannah River, at the head of its navigable portion. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Harbison State Forest and The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson. Explore Augusta's surroundings by going to Aiken (Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum & Cyndi's Sweet Shoppe), Irmo Town Park (in Irmo) and Columbia (Fort Jackson & South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum). The adventure continues: appreciate the extensive heritage of Riverwalk, get engrossed in the history at Augusta Museum of History, examine the collection at Lexington County Museum, and make a trip to The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
