Austin

— 5 nights

Live Music Capital of the World

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Step off the beaten path and head to Rainey Street and Harry Ransom Center. Head to 6th Street and The Domainfor plenty of shopping. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Austin: Dick's Classic Garage (in San Marcos) and San Antonio (The Alamo & Briscoe Western Art Museum). There's still lots to do: ponder the world of politics at Texas State Capitol, appreciate the history behind Stevie Ray Vaughan Statue, gain insight at University of Texas at Austin, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Texas State Cemetery.

To see photos, reviews, more things to do, and tourist information, you can read our Austin trip itinerary builder site.

In September, daily temperatures in Austin can reach 93°F, while at night they dip to 71°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
