City of Firsts

A major center for tourism and travel, Baltimore is famous as the city where amateur poet Francis Scott Key wrote the lyrics for the United States' national anthem.
For shopping fun, head to Fell's Point or Power Plant. Get a sense of the local culture at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine and The Walters Art Museum. The adventure continues: try to win big at Horseshoe Casino, wander the streets of Mount Vernon Cultural District, enjoy some friendly competition at Mustang Alleys, and stop by Hampden.

To find other places to visit, where to stay, and tourist information, use the Baltimore road trip app.

If you are flying in from Barbados, the closest major aiports are Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport and Joint Base Andrews. In August, daytime highs in Baltimore are 35°C, while nighttime lows are 25°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
