Baton Rouge — 2 nights

Baton Rouge is the capital of the U.S. state of Louisiana and its second-largest city. Kick off your visit on the 15th (Wed): get a sense of history and politics at State Capitol Welcome Center, then see the interesting displays at Louisiana State Archives, and then stroll through Mike the Tiger's Habitat. On the 16th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: explore the galleries of Laura: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site, then see the interesting displays at Whitney Plantation, and then admire the natural beauty at Houmas House and Gardens.

Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, the whole town of Eureka Springs is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Venture out of the city with trips to College of the Ozarks (in Point Lookout), Branson (Arcade City, Titanic Museum, &more) and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art (in Bentonville). There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Thorncrown Chapel, wander the streets of Eureka Springs Historical Downtown, stroll through Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, and contemplate the waterfront views at Beaver Lake.
