Take a break from the city and head to Angry Pelican Charters and Oib Surf and Java. Your inner history buff will appreciate Brunswick Town and Fort Anderson State Historic Site and Trinity United Methodist Church. Get out of town with these interesting Southport side-trips: Holden Beach (Windy Point Nautical Adventures & Holden Beach), Fort Fisher State Recreation Area (in Kure Beach) and Bald Head Island (Old Baldy Lighthouse & Smith Island Museum, Smith Island Museum, &more).
