Chincoteague Island

— 5 nights
Famous for a wild breed of horses--Chincoteague Ponies--Chincoteague Island embraces the mystery of some of North America’s oldest inhabitants.
Venture out of the city with trips to Cape Charles (Cape Charles Brewing Co & Cape Charles Beach), Hopkins & Bros. Store (in Onancock) and Cambridge (Choptank River Lighthouse, Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center, &more). And it doesn't end there: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, have some family-friendly fun at Surfside Golf, tour the pleasant surroundings at Bike Depot, and visit a coastal fixture at Assateague Lighthouse.

To see more things to do, where to stay, maps, and more tourist information, refer to the Chincoteague Island trip planner.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 86°F, and evening lows to 72°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
