Lewes is an incorporated city on the Delaware Bay in eastern Sussex County, Delaware. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lewes: Bethany Beach (Bethany Beach & Bethany Beach Boardwalk) and Dover (John Dickinson Plantation, Air Mobility Command Museum, &more). There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Lewes Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Rehoboth Beach Public Beach, immerse yourself in nature at Cape Henlopen State Park, and look for gifts at The Spice & Tea Exchange of Rehoboth.

On the 13th (Fri), take in nature's colorful creations at Nemours Estate, get engrossed in the history at Hagley Museum And Library, then get engrossed in the history at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, and finally snap pictures at Wooddale Covered Bridge. On the next day, admire the masterpieces at Delaware Art Museum, browse the different shops at Christiana Mall, then contemplate the long history of Dutch House Museum and Gardens, and finally walk around Battery Park.

You can drive from Lewes to Wilmington in 2 hours. Another option is to take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 56°F in November, and nighttime lows around 37°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sat) so you can drive back home.

The First State
Nicknamed the "First State" for its role in ratifying the U.S. Constitution, Delaware is only 160 km (100 mi) long and about 80 km (49 mi) wide at its widest point.
