Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
16th Street Mall has been added to your itinerary. Change things up with these side-trips from Denver: Colorado Springs (Cheyenne Mountain Zoo & Garden of the Gods). Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at Denver Union Station, admire the masterpieces at Denver Art Museum, and see the interesting displays at Molly Brown House Museum.
