Founded in 1701 by a French explorer and adventurer, Detroit exerted a profound impact on the world for most of the 20th century.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Detroit Rolling Pub as well as Eastern Market. Kick off your visit on the 5th (Thu): shop like a local with Eastern Market and then go all around town with Detroit Rolling Pub. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 6th (Fri): explore the world behind art at Detroit Institute of Arts, see the interesting displays at The Henry Ford, then see the interesting displays at Greenfield Village, and finally stroll around Elizabeth Park.

Furniture City

The second largest city in Michigan and a hub of furniture manufacturing, Grand Rapids bears the nickname "Furniture City." However, the destination's original name came from the rapids of the Grand River that once ran through the downtown area.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Sun): walk around Millennium Park, then see the interesting displays at Gerald R. Ford Museum, then take in nature's colorful creations at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, and finally trek along Cascade Peace Park.
