Durango

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Family-friendly places like Off-Road Tours and River Rafting & Tubing will thrill your kids. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Durango: Mesa Verde National Park (Cliff Palace & Balcony House), Bear Creek Falls (in Telluride) and Ouray (Bear Creek National Recreation Trail & Box Canyon Waterfall & Park). There's still lots to do: whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, fly down the slopes at Purgatory Resort, examine the collection at Durango Fish Hatchery and Wildlife Museum, and delve into the distant past at Aztec Ruins National Monument.

To plan Durango vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 86°F, and evening lows to 54°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
