Heart of the Florida Keys

A tiny city just 16 km (10 mi) long, Marathon is spread across several islands in the middle of the Florida Keys.
Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 12th (Fri): identify plant and animal life at Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and then admire nature's wide array of creatures at Island Dolphin Care.

Columbus to Marathon is an approximately 7-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or take a bus. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Columbus in June; daily highs in Marathon reach 90°F and lows reach 79°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Key West.

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Get outdoors at Scuba & Snorkeling and Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory. Let the collections at The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum and Truman Little White House capture your imagination.
