The Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains

Nestled in the lush, wooded forests of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg is Tennessee’s premier mountain resort destination.
Do your shopping at Fowler's Clay Works and Alewine Pottery. Visiting River Rafting & Tubing and Walker Sisters' Cabin will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Cades Cove & Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail). There's lots more to do: sample the fine beverages at Sugarlands Distilling Company, take in the awesome beauty at Mount LeConte, tour the pleasant surroundings at Roaring Fork, and do a tasting at Tennessee Homemade Wines.

To see traveler tips, more things to do, where to stay, and other tourist information, you can read our Gatlinburg day trip site.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 87°F, and evening lows to 69°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 18th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
