Gatlinburg

The Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains

Nestled in the lush, wooded forests of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg is Tennessee’s premier mountain resort destination.
For shopping fun, head to Alewine Pottery or Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Bush's Visitor Center and Sugarland Cellars. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Gatlinburg: Museum of the Cherokee Indian (in Cherokee) and Sevierville (Tennessee Legend Distillery - Newport Hwy, Eagle Springs Winery, &more). There's much more to do: sample the fine beverages at Sugarlands Distilling Company, view the masterpieces at Fowler's Clay Works, look for all kinds of wild species at Roaring Fork, and examine the collection at Hollywood Star Cars Museum.

To see where to stay, photos, traveler tips, and tourist information, read our Gatlinburg road trip planning site.

In November, daytime highs in Gatlinburg are 60°F, while nighttime lows are 39°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
