In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Start off your visit on the 24th (Fri): steep yourself in history at Battleship Missouri Memorial, then contemplate the long history of USS Arizona Memorial, and then take in the pleasant sights at Diamond Head State Monument. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, explore the different monuments and memorials at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, then immerse yourself in nature at Puu Ualakaa State Park, then take in the dramatic scenery at Manoa Falls, and finally explore the activities along Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve.
