Derby City

Kentucky’s largest city, Louisville, is best known as the home of the Kentucky Derby.
On the 6th (Wed), learn something new at Flame Run Glass Studio and Gallery. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at Kentucky Derby Museum, then contemplate the long history of Churchill Downs, then examine the collection at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, and finally admire the masterpieces at 21c Museum Hotel.

Fort Lauderdale to Louisville is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
Do your shopping at Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea and Ruth Hunt Candies. Appreciate the collections at Ark Encounter and Damselfly Gallery. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Lexington: Woodford Reserve Distillery (in Versailles), Berea Arts Council (in Berea) and Buffalo Trace Distillery (in Frankfort).
