Lexington — 5 nights

Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
Venture out of the city with trips to Lawrenceburg (Wild Turkey Distillery & Four Roses), Versailles (Woodford Reserve Distillery & Sun Valley Farm) and Frankfort (Castle & Key Distillery & Buffalo Trace Distillery). There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Kentucky Horse Park, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Bluegrass Distillers, relax in the rural setting at Mill Ridge Farm, and try to win big at Keeneland.

To see traveler tips, more things to do, ratings, and more tourist information, you can read our Lexington trip itinerary maker app.

Durham to Lexington is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Durham in March, you will find days in Lexington are a bit cooler (55°F), and nights are about the same (34°F). Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Fri) so you can fly back home.
