Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Willow Beach will get you outdoors. The Strip and The Mob Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. San Jose to Las Vegas is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from San Jose in May, expect Las Vegas to be somewhat warmer, temps between 87°F and 64°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Grand Canyon National Park.
