Home to two prestigious educational institutions, Lexington was founded in 1778.
Kick off your visit on the 9th (Wed): admire the striking features of Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest, then pause for some photo ops at National D-Day Memorial, and then experience rural life at A.J. Gross & Sons Orchard. On the next day, deepen your understanding at Virginia Military Institute, then examine the collection at George C. Marshall Museum, and then learn about all things military at Museum of Military Memorabilia.
