Derby City

Kentucky’s largest city, Louisville, is best known as the home of the Kentucky Derby.
You've now added Classic Biplane Tours to your itinerary. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Conrad-Caldwell House Museum (Conrad's Castle) and Cherokee Park. Change things up with these side-trips from Louisville: Equus Run Vineyard & Winery (in Midway), Lexington (Mary Todd Lincoln House & Unique Horse Farm Tours) and Old Bardstown Village Civil War Museum (in Bardstown). There's much more to do: sample the fine beverages at Copper & Kings American Brandy Distillery, view the masterpieces at 21c Museum Hotel, identify plant and animal life at Bernheim Arboretum & Forest, and admire the masterpieces at The Speed Art Museum.

To find where to stay, reviews, traveler tips, and other tourist information, refer to the Louisville road trip planning website.

In July in Louisville, expect temperatures between 87°F during the day and 69°F at night.
