Heart of the Florida Keys

A tiny city just 16 km (10 mi) long, Marathon is spread across several islands in the middle of the Florida Keys.
On the 14th (Fri), enjoy the sand and surf at Sombrero Beach, then identify plant and animal life at The Turtle Hospital, and then view the masterpieces at Shady Palm Art Gallery & Photography.

New York City to Marathon is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. While traveling from New York City, expect somewhat warmer days and much hotter nights in Marathon, ranging from highs of 88°F to lows of 77°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 15th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Big Pine Key.
