Copper Harbor is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in northeastern Keweenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Start off your visit on the 9th (Mon): enjoy the sea views from Fort Wilkins State Park and then stroll around Hunter's Point Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: explore and take pictures at Brockway Mountain Drive, then admire the sheer force of Silver River Falls, then stop by The Jampot, and finally see the interesting displays at Eagle Harbor Lighthouse and Museums.

Kalamazoo to Copper Harbor is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and taxi. When traveling from Kalamazoo in August, plan for little chillier days and about the same nights in Copper Harbor: temperatures range from 71°F by day to 58°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Tue) early enough to drive to Houghton.

Houghton is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and largest city in the Copper Country on the Keweenaw Peninsula. Family-friendly places like Adventure Mining Company and Algomah Acres Honey Farm & Honey House will thrill your kids. Explore Houghton's surroundings by going to Ontonagon (Bond Falls, Presque Isle River, &more) and North Country Trail (aka Canyon Falls Trail) (in L'Anse). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Mineral Museum of Michigan, look for gifts at Copper World, identify plant and animal life at Nara Nature Park, and discover the riches below the earth's surface at Quincy Mine.
