In October, Acadia National Park is little chillier than Washington DC - with highs of 59°F and lows of 42°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Ogunquit.

Kick off your visit on the 10th (Sat): enjoy the sand and surf at Wells Beach, stroll through Footbridge Beach, and then get to know the fascinating history of Marginal Way Walkway. Here are some ideas for day two: admire all the interesting features of Ocean Ave, cruise along Walker's Point, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge.
