Kill Devil Hills — 1 night

Start off your visit on the 9th (Fri): take in the spiritual surroundings of Historic Corolla Chapel, see the interesting displays at Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Museum, then look for all kinds of wild species at Back Country Safari Tours, and finally look for gifts at Salty Paws Biscuits. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 10th (Sat): learn about winemaking at Vineyards On The Scuppernong, take in the dramatic natural features at Jockey's Ridge State Park, then get engrossed in the history at Wright Brothers National Memorial, and finally take in the waterfront at Duck Town Boardwalk.

Washington to Kill Devil Hills is an approximately 5-hour car ride. Traveling from Washington in June, Kill Devil Hills is a bit warmer at night with lows of 70°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sat) so you can go by car to Manteo.
