Traverse City might be well known for its huge cherry industry, but its position along Grand Traverse Bay in Lake Michigan endows it with fine scenery and a wealth of outdoor attractions.
Get out of town with these interesting Traverse City side-trips: Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail (in Glen Arbor) and Empire (Empire Bluff Trail, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, & more). There's still lots to do: learn the secrets of beer at a beer tour and tasting, do a tasting at Chateau Chantal Winery & Tasting Room, stop by American Spoon, and admire all the interesting features of The Iris Farm.

To see other places to visit, reviews, photos, and more tourist information, refer to the Traverse City holiday builder tool .

Cleveland to Traverse City is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus.
