Eastsound is an unincorporated community on Orcas Island in San Juan County, Washington, United States.Eastsound is the largest population center on Orcas Island, the second-most populated and physically largest of the San Juan Islands. Visiting Tommy Thompson Trail and Shark Reef Sanctuary will get you outdoors. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Darvill's Bookstore and Crow Valley Pottery. Venture out of the city with trips to Anacortes (Rosario Beach, Predators of the Heart, & more). There's lots more to do: indulge your thirst for a good beer at Island Hoppin' Brewery, admire the majestic nature at Jones Island State Park, take in the awesome beauty at Turtleback Mountain, and explore the wealth of natural beauty at Sucia Island State Park.

For reviews, maps, where to stay, and more tourist information, refer to the Eastsound road trip planning site .

Portland to Eastsound is an approximately 6.5-hour combination of flight and car. Traveling from Portland in March, you will find days in Eastsound are slightly colder (50°F), and nights are about the same (40°F). Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
