Start off your visit on the 20th (Sat): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, then witness the site of a historic battle at Valley Forge National Historical Park, and then ponder the world of politics at Independence Hall. On your second day here, get engrossed in the history at Eastern State Penitentiary, explore the world behind art at Philadelphia Museum of Art, examine the collection at National Constitution Center, then stroll the grounds of Christ Church, and finally pause for some photo ops at Liberty Bell Center.

Rochester to Philadelphia is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. Traveling from Rochester in July, expect Philadelphia to be somewhat warmer, temps between 88°F and 72°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) to allow time to take a train to Lancaster.

The heart of Pennsylvania's famous "Dutch Country," Lancaster is one of the nation's oldest inland cities, founded in 1730.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Mon): get engrossed in the history at Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, examine the collection at Choo Choo Barn, then steep yourself in history at The Amish Farm and House, and finally steep yourself in history at Wheatland.

Getting from Philadelphia to Lancaster by train takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Philadelphia in July, expect slightly colder with lows of 66°F in Lancaster. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) so you can drive to Gettysburg.

Located near the memorial park marking the site of one of the largest Civil War battles, the town of Gettysburg sits in a landscape of rolling green hills with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.
On the 23rd (Tue), steep yourself in history at Eisenhower National Historic Site, then admire all the interesting features of Gettysburg National Military Park, then steep yourself in history at Dobbin House Tavern, and finally gain interesting insight with Confederate Trails of Gettysburg. On the 24th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take an in-depth tour of Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center, steep yourself in history at Little Round Top, then get to know the fascinating history of Shriver House Museum, then get your game on at Victorian Photography Studio, and finally examine the collection at Gettysburg Diorama.

Traveling by car from Lancaster to Gettysburg takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus. In July, daytime highs in Gettysburg are 84°F, while nighttime lows are 66°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Wed) early enough to travel to Pittsburgh.

Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
On the 25th (Thu), take an in-depth tour of Senator John Heinz History Center, then immerse yourself in nature at Point State Park, then engage your brain at Carnegie Science Center, and finally get engrossed in the history at Cathedral of Learning.
