6 days in Pikes Peak Region Itinerary

Part of Colorado's Royal Gorge Region, Cañon City straddles the Arkansas River.

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park has been added to your itinerary. Start off your visit on the 16th (Mon): stop by The Gold Mine Rock Shop and then trek along Tunnel Drive. On the next day, relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, snap pictures at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, and then admire all the interesting features of Skyline Drive.

New York City to Cañon City is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Wed) so you can go by car to Manitou Springs.

Drive from Cañon City to Manitou Springs in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Cañon City in October, expect Manitou Springs to be little chillier, temps between 64°F and 35°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 21st (Sat) to allow time for the flight back home.
