The Hostess City of the South

Georgia's oldest city, Savannah displays its colonial history proudly on every corner.
Relax by the water at Coligny Beach and Tybee Island Beach. Popular historic sites such as Savannah Historic District and Colonial Park Cemetery are in your itinerary. Venture out of the city with trips to Hilton Head (Hilton Head Island Bike Trails & Dolphin & Whale Watching). There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, admire the landmark architecture of Mickve Israel Temple, explore the different monuments and memorials at Bonaventure Cemetery, and don't miss a visit to Historic River Street.

Washington to Savannah is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Washington in March, with highs in Savannah at 69°F and lows at 48°F. You will have some time to spend on the 25th (Thu) before leaving for Charleston.
