Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Dedicate the 1st (Tue) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. And it doesn't end there: enjoy breathtaking views from Space Needle, catch a live event at T-Mobile Park, examine the collection at The Museum of Flight, and view the masterpieces at Chihuly Garden and Glass.

The capital city of America's most economically significant state, Sacramento is an important stop for any politico.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Wed): examine the collection at California State Railroad Museum and then make a trip to Davis Campus of the University of California. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, then stroll through Effie Yeaw Nature Center, and then deepen your understanding at California State University, Sacramento.
