Emerald City

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Explore hidden gems such as Fishing Charters & Tours and Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. And it doesn't end there: don't miss a visit to Space Needle, kick back and relax at Alki Beach, do a tasting at Chateau Ste. Omaha to Seattle is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Omaha to Seattle, you'll gain 2 hours due to the time zone difference. Expect little chillier temperatures when traveling from Omaha in July; daily highs in Seattle reach 79°F and lows reach 60°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Thu) early enough to travel to Friday Harbor.

Friday Harbor, San Juan Island — 2 nights

The tiny town of Friday Harbor is the largest village on the San Juan Islands, and it fits within just 2.6 km (1 sq mi) of space.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Thu): take in the history at American Camp, immerse yourself in nature at Lime Kiln Point State Park, then take in the exciting artwork at Island Studios, and finally indulge in some personalized pampering at Lavendera Massage. On the 4th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: walk around Stuart Island State Park, then experience rural life at Westcott Bay Shellfish Co., and then get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports.

Fly from Seattle to Friday Harbor in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle and flight; or ride a ferry. In August, Friday Harbor is little chillier than Seattle - with highs of 74°F and lows of 51°F. You will have some time to spend on the 5th (Sat) before leaving for home.
