Red Rock Country

Despite its relatively small size, Sedona overflows with tourist appeal.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Thu): get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour and then view the masterpieces at Village Gallery of Local Artists. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 4th (Fri): hike along Bear Mountain Trail, trek along Doe Mountain Trail, then hike along Fay Canyon Trail, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Miami to Sedona is an approximately 9-hour flight. You can also drive. You'll gain 2 hours traveling from Miami to Sedona due to the time zone difference. Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Whiskey Row and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch and Right On Target Clay Guides of AZ. Explore Phoenix's surroundings by going to Prescott (Thumb Butte Trail 33 & Yavapai County Courthouse Square). There's still lots to do: trek along Echo Canyon Trail and Recreation Area, admire the masterpieces at Phoenix Art Museum, take in the dramatic natural features at Hole in the Rock, and explore by horseback at KOLI Equestrian Center.

Drive from Sedona to Phoenix in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or take a bus. Traveling from Sedona in December, expect Phoenix to be a bit warmer, temps between 68°F and 46°F. On the 8th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
