The gateway to Utah's popular canyon country, Moab sits engulfed in the middle of desert wilderness.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Tue): take in the dramatic natural features at Sand Dune Arch, then look and learn at RedRock Astronomy, and then hike along Park Avenue Trail. On the 12th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take a memorable drive along Colorado Riverway Recreation Area, then appreciate the views at Castle Valley, and then see the interesting displays at Moab Museum of Film and Western Heritage.

Capitol Reef National Park takes its name from a particularly rugged and scenic section of the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic "wrinkle" stretching for 160 km (100 mi) along a dry plateau surrounded by white Navajo sandstone cliffs and domes, and red canyons, buttes, and rock bridges.
Get outdoors at Grand Wash Trail and The Hickman Bridge Trail. Discover out-of-the-way places like Fruita Campground and Goosenecks Overlook. Spend the 15th (Sat) exploring nature at Capitol Reef National Park . There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Gifford Homestead and don't miss a visit to Grand Wash to Cassidy Arch.
