Towering cliffs of red, white, and pink Navajo sandstone, stream-carved slot canyons, and big blue sky all characterize Zion National Park.
Spend the 29th (Tue) exploring nature at Zion National Park. Spend the 28th (Mon) exploring nature at The Narrows. There's much more to do: cruise along Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, explore the stunning scenery at Kolob Canyons, trek along Angel's Landing, and don't miss a visit to Observation Point.

You can find hoodoos--rock pillars formed by erosion--all around the world, but those of Bryce Canyon National Park remain the standard bearers thanks to their bright red color, tall stature, and arrangement in large amphitheaters.
On the 1st (Fri), stroll through Fairyland Loop Trail, trek along Navajo Loop Trail, then trek along Queen's Garden Trail, and finally go for a walk through Paria View. Here are some ideas for day two: enjoy breathtaking views from Bryce Point, then take some stellar pictures from Inspiration Point, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Navajo/Queens Garden Loop.

You can drive from Zion National Park to Bryce Canyon National Park in 1.5 hours. In December, Bryce Canyon National Park is little chillier than Zion National Park - with highs of 36°F and lows of 8°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
