The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, National World War II Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and other attractions you added. Visit Antietam National Battlefield and Fell's Point for their historical value. National Air and Space Museum and National Gallery of Art will appeal to museum buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Washington DC: Baltimore (Sagamore Spirit Distillery & Horseshoe Casino). There's more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Washington National Cathedral and contemplate the long history of Georgetown University.

Located just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., the county of Arlington blends big city and sprawling suburban environments.
You've now added Arlington National Cemetery to your itinerary. Kick off your visit on the 16th (Mon): don't miss a visit to John F. Kennedy Grave Site, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Arlington National Cemetery, then get to know the fascinating history of The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and finally see the interesting displays at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. On the next day, sample the fine beverages at Catoctin Creek Distillery and then explore the wealth of natural beauty at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.
