Aiken
— 59 nights

Founded in 1835, the city of Aiken was named after William Aiken, the president of the South Carolina Railroad. Venture out of the city with trips to Musgrove Mill State Historic (in Clinton), Laurens Historic District (in Laurens) and lake Warren State Park (in Hampton). There's much more to do: admire the natural beauty at Hopelands Gardens, steep yourself in history at Edisto Memorial Gardens, see the interesting displays at Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum, and gain insight at Aiken County Historical Museum.
