Augusta–Richmond County is a consolidated city-county on the central eastern border of the U.S. state of Georgia, and located on the Savannah River, at the head of its navigable portion. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Augusta: Athens (State Botanical Garden of Georgia, Sandy Creek Nature Center, &more), Columbia (Sea Lion Landing, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, &more) and Irmo (Irmo Community Park & Irmo Town Park). Spend the 11th (Mon) exploring nature at Congaree National Park. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Augusta Canal Discovery Center, get engrossed in the history at Meadow Garden, take in nature's colorful creations at Hopelands Gardens, and admire the landmark architecture of The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson.
