Bethesda — 59 nights

Bethesda is a census-designated place in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just northwest of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It takes its name from a local church, the Bethesda Meeting House (1820, rebuilt 1849), which in turn took its name from Jerusalem's Pool of Bethesda. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring and Cabin John Regional Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bethesda: Fairfax Station (Burke Lake Park & Fairfax Station Railroad Museum), St. Michaels (Boat Tours & Water Sports, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, &more) and Harpers Ferry (Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Appalachian National Scenic Trail, &more). Spend the 26th (Sat) exploring nature at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, explore the wealth of natural beauty at Great Falls Park, trot along with a tour on horseback, and get a taste of life in the country at Rocking S Ranch.

For more things to do, photos, where to stay, and other tourist information, refer to the Bethesda online vacation planner.

Expect a daytime high around 53°F in March, and nighttime lows around 34°F.
