Cedar Rapids — 59 nights

Cedar Rapids is the second largest city in Iowa and is the county seat of Linn County. Take a break from the city and head to Indian Creek Nature Center and Maquoketa Caves State Park. Explore Cedar Rapids' surroundings by going to Galena (Chestnut Mountain Resort, Galena / Jo Daviess County Historical Society and Museum, &more), Dubuque (Julien Dubuque Monument, Grand Harbor Resort and Waterpark, &more) and Iowa City (Finkbine Golf Course, Pleasant Valley Golf Course, &more). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 4th (Wed) at Adventureland. There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Brucemore, make a trip to Czech Village / New Bohemia District, explore the world behind art at Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, and browse the collection at Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum.

To see more things to do, ratings, photos, and other tourist information, read our Cedar Rapids trip itinerary planning site.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 82°F, and evening lows to 62°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
