Detroit — 59 nights

The Motor City

Founded in 1701 by a French explorer and adventurer, Detroit exerted a profound impact on the world for most of the 20th century.
Venture out of the city with trips to Frankenmuth (St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, &more), Port Clinton (African Safari Wildlife Park, Liberty Aviation Museum, &more) and Sandusky (Kalahari Waterparks, Merry-Go-Round Museum, &more). There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Detroit Institute of Arts, see the interesting displays at National Museum of the Great Lakes, get engrossed in the history at Detroit Historical Museum, and get to know the resident critters at Toledo Zoo.

To find other places to visit, photos, more things to do, and more tourist information, refer to the Detroit sightseeing tool.

If you are flying in from Egypt, the closest major aiports are Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Bishop International Airport, Oakland County International Airport and St Clair County International Airport. In August, daily temperatures in Detroit can reach 32°C, while at night they dip to 20°C.
