Estes Park — 59 nights

More than just a convenient resting place for travelers on their way to the national park encompassing the Front Range of the Rockies, Estes Park is a popular place to visit in its own right.
Get outdoors at Emerald Lake Trail and Eldorado Canyon State Park. Step off the beaten path and head to Horsetooth Mountain Open Space and Estes Park Guided Tours. Get out of town with these interesting Estes Park side-trips: Chapel on the Rock (in Allenspark), Grand Lake (Spas, The Beach at Grand Lake, &more) and Boulder (Eldorado Canyon, Boulder Creek Path, &more). Spend the 18th (Sat) exploring nature at Sheep Lakes. There's still lots to do: sample the fine beverages at Elkins Distilling Co., hike along Lily Mountain Trail, indulge your thirst for a good beer at Rock Cut Brewing Company, and play a few rounds at Estes Park Golf Course.

To see maps, reviews, photos, and other tourist information, refer to the Estes Park day trip planning app.

Santa Fe to Estes Park is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and car. Expect a daytime high around 70°F in May, and nighttime lows around 43°F.
