Washington to Apalachicola is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Traveling from Washington in July, Apalachicola is a bit warmer at night with lows of 75°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) early enough to go by car to St. George Island.

Famed for its serene and uncrowded beaches, St.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Saint George Island State Park and Sometimes It's Hotter. Go for a jaunt from St. George Island to Alligator Point to see Allegro Sailing about 58 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: identify plant and animal life at Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve, don't miss a visit to Bob Sikes Cut, and shop like a local with Sea Oats Art Gallery.
