Augusta–Richmond County is a consolidated city-county on the central eastern border of the U.S. state of Georgia, and located on the Savannah River, at the head of its navigable portion. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Augusta: Kackleberry Farm (in Louisville), Thomson (McDuffie Museum & Wrightsboro Church) and George L. Smith Park (in Twin City). There's much more to do: choose your vessel at Savannah Rapids Kayak Rental, admire the landmark architecture of The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson, stroll around Savannah Rapids Park, and examine the collection at Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History.

Athens is a consolidated city–county in the U.S. state of Georgia, in the northeastern part of the state about an hour's drive from the global city of Atlanta, and comprising the former city of Athens proper and Clarke County. Explore Athens' surroundings by going to Hartwell (Hartwell Dam & Cateechee Golf Club), Gainesville (Wilshire Trails Park & Cool Springs Blueberry Farm) and Oakwood Bait & Tackle Shop (in Oakwood).
