Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Get out of town with these interesting Seattle side-trips: ILovekickboxing (in Kirkland), Sequim (Sequim Pioneer Memorial Park, B&B Family Farm, &more) and Bainbridge Island (Bloedel Reserve & Battle Point Park). Dedicate the 8th (Thu) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Spend the 25th (Sun) wandering through the wild on Discover Nature. There's still lots to do: get a taste of the local shopping with Chihuly Garden and Glass, enjoy breathtaking views from Space Needle, get to know the resident critters at Woodland Park Zoo, and admire the masterpieces at Seattle Art Museum.
