Pittsburgh

— 59 nights

City of Bridges

Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
Get out of town with these interesting Pittsburgh side-trips: Swallow Falls State Park (in Oakland), Flight 93 National Memorial (in Stoystown) and Somerset (Somerset Historical Center, Quecreek Mine Rescue Site, &more). On the 11th (Wed), spend a day ambling around Mill Creek Park. And it doesn't end there: take in nature's colorful creations at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, see the interesting displays at Bicycle Heaven, take an in-depth tour of Senator John Heinz History Center, and contemplate the long history of Fallingwater.
