Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
Family-friendly places like Carnegie Museum of Art and Pennsylvania Macaroni Company will thrill your kids. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and Gobbler's Knob. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Pittsburgh: Wagon Trails Animal Park (in Vienna), Warren (The Upton House, John Stark Edwards House and Museum (Trumbull County Historical Society), &more) and Youngstown (Lanterman's Mill, Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, &more). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Carnegie Mellon University, gain insight at University of Pittsburgh, appreciate the history behind Phil's Burrow, and walk around Schenley Park.

Sanford to Pittsburgh is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and subway. Traveling from Sanford in February, expect Pittsburgh to be much colder, temps between 40°F and 24°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
