Portland — 59 nights

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
You'll get in some beach time at Manzanita Beach and Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area. Get some historical perspective at Cape Meares Lighthouse and Northwest (Nob Hill). Change things up with these side-trips from Portland: Cannon Beach (Hug Point State Park, Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site, &more), Seaside (Camp 18 Logging Museum & Restaurant, Seaside Beach, &more) and Rockaway Beach Wayside (in Rockaway Beach). Spend the 22nd (Fri) exploring nature at Fort Clatsop National Memorial. Next up on the itinerary: admire the majestic nature at Tryon Creek State Natural Area, take in the dramatic scenery at Wahkeena Falls, do a tasting at Willamette Valley Vineyards, and walk around Mount Tabor Park.
